Liquorice is obtained from the liquorice root in a complex process. The plant is 50 times sweeter than cane sugar and has always been used as a sweetener. The root is first extracted and then thickened. Sugar syrup, flour and gelatine are added to the raw liquorice to make it softer. Aniseed, agar, fennel oil, pectin, starch and also sal ammoniac are further mixed in. This is how the soft licorice is made.

Discover chocolate with nougat as a delicate Indulgence for home

So if you have always been a lover of chocolate with nougat and would like to try something new, you are absolutely at the right address. By the way, nougat was originally invented in Turin, Italy. When the tax authorities of the time demanded ever higher duties on the chocolate mass, the resourceful chocolatiers began to stretch the chocolate with ground hazelnuts in order to save taxes. This chocolate substitute soon found a ready market, especially at the Turin court, and so nougat began its triumphal march around the world. In Italy, nougat is called Gianduja or Gianduia.
