The beans for this bar come from the Kokoa Kamili cooperative in the Kilombero Valley in Tanzania. Since 2015, Kokoa Kamili has been paying premium prices for the still moist cocoa beans beans, saving the farmers from having to ferment and dry them and increasing the value of their cocoa beans enormously through central fermentation. During the harvest season, Kokoa Kamili employs around 50 people from its village and has set up a scholarship fund for local girls who can attend the nearby secondary school.
