"San Juan Estate" Trinidad 78% dark chocolate

Dark chocolate from Austria

A dark chocolate made from Trinitario cocoa beans. The origin of the beans is the San Juan Estate from the Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo region in Trinidad. Compared to other cocoa varieties, the Trinitario is a relatively young variety: until 1725 only Criollo was grown on the island. Due to many epidemics, the cocoa stock was reforested with the Forasteros, which resulted in the crossing of the Trinitario.

In 2011, Marieke Wijne-Slop from the Netherlands opened her chocolate factory in Staatz. On site, customers can not only purchase the fine chocolate, but also enjoy the chocolate delicacies with other regional delicatessen products in a cozy cafe.

 

The 78% ZART San Juan Estate Trinidad Chocolate is a dark bean-to-bar chocolate. Smoky taste with a fruity aftertaste.
